Heffalumps and Woozles

I remembered tonight about heffalumps and woozles. Disney use to scare the crap out of me, but I loved it. The fact that Disney use to go dark is awesome. I hope that the only things that appeal to consumers now days are not just soft, pretty crap being spun a thousand different ways. I want to believe that parents of children out there could still accept something, that at times is dark, but awesome. There can be no light without the dark.

Darkness

My favorite personification of evil or the devil persona has always been Tim Curry's Darkness from the movie Legend. The makeup they did for his character has never been surpassed in my opinion, including Hellboy.

Cothing studies

I need quite a bit of practice on how clothing hangs and stretches over forms. This is only one of many studies that I need to accomplish to get an eye for this.

Sanguine gestures

A few gesture drawings tonight using the curving forms of sanguine to give them movement and interest.

Butterflies

A little sketch tonight of delicate little creatures. I'm afraid I didn't treat the drawing with the delicacy it deserves. But I learned about drawing them as I went.

Mouth sketches

Just a few sketches tonight of another difficult anatomical structure. The mouth can be a very important feature to show emotions. It is also one of the structures of the face, that if done wrong, can ruin the impression of depth and realism.
